How Does It Work?
Using HSV 9-1-1
Rinse HSV 9-1-1 with water thoroughly for 10 seconds, this will activate the compound, then apply it for at least 30 seconds using a circular or side to side motion with constant direct contact to the outbreak, rinse and repeat, HSV 9-1-1 immediately goes to work.
After application be sure to dry HSV 9-1-1 thoroughly as it is soluble if left wet.
For best results apply HSV 9-1-1 at the first sign of an outbreak. If applied soon enough the cold sore may not even manifest. Unlike other products which need to be applied multiple times a day for multiple days HSV 9-1-1 is very powerful so we advise only applying HSV 9-1-1 once or twice per outbreak. If applied to a mature outbreak HSV 9-1-1 can only encourage the scabbing process to happen faster than usual, which does in turn shorten the time it takes to heal. Once full scabbing has happened it is best not to apply, let your body do its magic, otherwise it could encourage the scabbing process over and over again. For best results apply at the FIRST SIGN of a tingle.
Depending on the stage of the outbreak you may feel a stinging sensation when applying, this is normal and a good signal. (read more about the science behind HSV 9-1-1).
After application, HSV 9-1-1 leaves no residue so you can apply make-up or other skin care products with ease. Other cold sore products like gels and creams will moisten the problem area which can cause more puss and delay the healing process, which is not what you want. Once HSV 9-1-1 is applied the work is done.
The reason HSV 9-1-1 works so well is because of its powerful natural astringent properties and its positive alum ions which allows your body to heal itself as fast as possible (please see below). If you catch the outbreak early enough it may not even manifest or be gone in a few days. Because you only need one application, you can literally apply once, and go about your day!
There is no comparison...
Some products only have a small window of efficacy, having to be used within 72 hours of a tingle. Others, like some medicated gels and creams, have to be applied at least five times a day, for up to five days and warn not to use for any longer. Almost all other products warn you not to get them inside your mouth.

HSV 9-1-1 works so fast when applied to an outbreak because of its powerful natural astringent properties which helps induce contraction in the superficial tissue layers impeding the cold sore from manifesting properly and helps dry up secretions. The formation of HSV 9-1-1's 'positive alum ions' on the outbreak area affects the 'negative ion charges of the body's plasma proteins' which helps coagulation encouraging the formation of a crust which in turn helps speed up the healing process. Our Compound is officially classified as a GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) substance by the FDA. If accidentally ingested it is safely rapidly absorbed in the body and processed as a salt.
